From the 2012-13 reporting period net energy consumption data is published as part of the
reported greenhouse and energy information by year.
For the 2010-11 and 2011-12 reporting periods, net energy consumption figures were provided voluntarily by the registered corporations.
Net energy consumption is calculated by subtracting the energy content of the secondary fuels and energy commodities produced from the operation of the facility from the total energy consumed by the operation of a facility.
Each facility's net energy is added together to get the corporation group's total net energy figure.
Also, where a reporting transfer certificate report has been made to the Clean Energy Regulator, the energy consumption from the operation of a facility is adjusted by deducting the energy content of the secondary fuels and energy commodities produced from the total energy consumed by the operation of the facility.
