From 1 July 2022, the Clean Energy Regulator (CER) commenced work on the second phase of changes to the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES). These changes affect the accreditation of installers and designers and the publishing of the approved solar panel and inverter product list.
Apply to be an approved installer and designer accreditation scheme operator
On 16 December 2022, the CER opened a 3 month
application round to approve installer and designer accreditation scheme operators.
Applicants must submit their completed application form by 5 pm (AEDT) Wednesday 15 March 2023.
Information about what applications must include is in accordance with
Regulation 20BE of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Regulations (REE Regulations).
Information about what the CER must consider in assessing applications is in accordance with Regulation 20BH of the REE Regulations.
Until a decision is made to select one or more organisations, the Clean Energy Council (CEC) will continue the current installer and designer accreditation scheme under the SRES.
Solar panel and inverter product listing consultation
Between 7 November to 6 December 2022, the CER consulted with industry and other stakeholders on whether to nominate an organisation to publish SRES solar panel and inverter product lists.
The CER is currently deciding whether to open an application process that could lead to the nomination of a body to publish SRES approved solar panel and inverter product lists. If we do not make a nomination, the function remains with the Clean Energy Council (CEC).
The Clean Energy Council (CEC) will continue to publish SRES solar panel and inverter product lists while these processes are undertaken.
