To determine how many small-scale technology certificates a hot water system may be entitled to, applicants must use the method developed by the Clean Energy Regulator, which is outlined in the
Renewable Energy (Method for Solar Water Heaters) Determination 2016.
To obtain a hard-copy of an Australian or International Standard referred to in this Determination, please contact the Clean Energy Regulator at
Based on this method, the Clean Energy Regulator has published
template deck files to assist manufacturers with product modelling process. The Clean Energy Regulator will not accept calculations based on other methodologies.
The number of small-scale certificates a system is eligible for is based on the life of the system—current deemed at 10 years.
