The Clean Energy Regulator (CER) calls for applications from manufacturers to update their models listed on the
register of solar water heaters on a regular basis. Applications for new hot water systems are also assessed as part of this process.
Each application round is announced through the CER website. You can
subscribed to receive emails about the register to be notified.
Submitting an application
You can complete the application to include or modify models in the register of solar water heaters in the
Client Portal. All audit files must be prepared correctly at the time the application is made.

Assessment by the Clean Energy Regulator
During the assessment process, the CER checks all models listed in the applications against the Australian and New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 2712:2007 licensing schedule. Models that are not correctly listed in the submission will not be accepted. See
solar water heater accreditation for more information.
Selected models are audited to ensure their small-scale technology certificate (STC) entitlements are calculated correctly. The CER may request supporting information from applicants during the audit process such as test reports and TRNSYS files. Models with incorrectly calculated STC entitlements will not be listed on the register.
Finalising and publishing the register
Applicants are provided with a final opportunity to review each model to make sure they are listed correctly before the register of hot water systems is published.
STCs may be created for newly approved and listed models once the register is published.
