Tips when submitting your EGR
Primary contact
The primary contact in your EGR must be the primary contact in the REC Registry. The Clean Energy Regulator may need to contact you to ensure the correct LGC entitlements.
Please update the power station details in the REC Registry before submitting your EGR if there has been a change.
Confirming your final generation data
Save time by
entering generation data and uploading supporting documentation in the REC Registry before commencing your EGR. The pre-populated generation data is editable and will need to be updated. Include notes explaining these changes if your final generation differs.
Issues with generation data where large-scale generation certificates (LGCs) have not yet been claimed
Enter all the generation data that is currently available to you even if you do not have all the required data and supporting documents. Use the free text fields to include details of any issues experienced and calculations used.
Do not wait for LGCs to be validated
Submit EGRs by the deadline regardless of LGC claim validation by the Clean Energy Regulator.
Changes in capacity or fuel source
Provide updated values with your EGR if your power station’s capacity or fuel sources changed during the year by submitting an
application to vary what constitutes a power station. This should be done at the same time as your EGR. If it will delay your EGR submission, submit it as soon as possible afterwards or your eligibility to create LGCs may be impacted.
Change of components
Submit an
application to vary what constitutes a power station if you have changed any of the components of your power station during the year. This may include changes to metering, inverters, or the addition of a battery storage system. This should be done at the same time as your EGR. If it will delay your EGR submission, submit it as soon as possible afterwards or your eligibility to create LGCs may be impacted.
Change of owner or operator
Please submit an
application to change the owner or operator and
application to change the nominated person before submitting your EGR. The nominated person for your power station as at 31 December 2023 handles submitting your EGR for the entire year.
Suspending the accreditation of a power station
The Clean Energy Regulator may suspend a power station’s accreditation if an EGR is not provided under section 20 of the
Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000.
A power station cannot create LGCs for any period of suspension.
