The Clean Energy Regulator has released June 2018 Large-scale Renewable Energy Target market data.
June highlights
- June saw 31 power stations accredited with a combined capacity of 307 megawatts. Four utility-scale projects account for 295 megawatts of June’s accredited capacity:
- Mt Gellibrand Wind Farm – VIC – 139 megawatts
- Crookwell 2 Wind Farm – NSW – 96 megawatts
- Salt Creek Wind Farm – VIC – 54 megawatts, and
- Whyalla Solar Farm 1 – SA – 6 megawatts.
- 177 power stations have now been accredited this year, the single largest number of power stations accredited in the history of the scheme.
- More large-scale renewable energy capacity has been accredited so far this year than in any previous year since 2001. With 1216 megawatts now accredited, this overtakes the previous record of 1088 megawatts in 2017.
- At the end of June, 7565 megawatts of large-scale renewable energy projects were under construction or operating. A further 774 megawatts of projects have a signed power purchase agreement.
