In September and October 2020, the Clean Energy Regulator held webinars to assist reporters to submit their emissions and energy reports under sections 19, 22G and 22X of the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007 (NGER Act). This year, due to COVID-19, no face-to-face workshops were held.
Overview of the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting scheme
This webinar provided a basic overview of the NGER legislative framework and reporting obligations for 2019–20. This webinar was aimed at those new to NGER reporting or existing users who wanted a refresher.
Topics included:
- reporting requirements including what must be reported and reporting thresholds
- corporate structures for NGER reporting including identifying the controlling corporation and group members
- facility types, and
- operational control.

Emissions and Energy Reporting System (EERS) and technical guidance
This webinar provided reporters with details on how to enter their data into EERS and in-depth technical guidance and advice.
Topics included:
- changes to EERS for 2019-20
- how to log in to EERS
- navigating your EERS workspace and basic data entry
- user management and the Client Portal, and
- technical guidance and useful advice on reporting.
