Audit determination handbook

The audit determination handbook provides information and support for people using the legislative framework for greenhouse and energy audits.

This handbook is intended for:

registered or potential greenhouse and energy auditor
other auditors participating in schemes administered by the Clean Energy Regulator, including registered company auditor
any person, association or firm seeking to provide training to prospective greenhouse and energy auditors
entities seeking to engage a registered greenhouse and energy auditor, and
regulators, investors and other users of National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting data.

The handbook explains the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting audit framework, describes the requirements for audits of the schemes administered by the Clean Energy Regulator, and provides templates for audit reports, letters of engagement and engagement plans.

Auditors should always refer to the most recent version of the handbook and its templates when performing audits of schemes administered by the Clean Energy Regulator, to ensure all legislative requirements for the audits are met. The most recent version of the handbook is the one available on this page.

This handbook is intended as a guide only and is not a substitute for the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007 under which the audit tasks are required.
