The Information Publication Scheme (IPS) aims to transform the freedom of information framework from one that responds to individual requests for access to documents, to one that requires agencies to take a proactive approach to publishing information. The IPS under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (FOI Act) imposes an obligation on the Clean Energy Regulator to ensure that certain information is made available on the website and is easily accessible and discoverable.
The Clean Energy Regulator recognises that engagement, education and support in the first instance are vital to ensuring scheme participants meet their obligations, and pro-actively assists participants, by publishing resources and guidance information such as guidelines, factsheets, booklets, brochures, newsletters, calculators and online resources.
The Clean Energy Regulator will continue to build and foster a culture of proactive disclosure of information through its
Information Publication Plan.
