If you are interested in participating in the tenth Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF) auction on 25 and 26 March 2020, you should register your project and submit a project application by midnight, Monday 10 February 2020 (AEDT).

Consider the benefits of participating in the ERF

Have you considered participating in the ERF and securing an income stream from carbon abatement opportunities?

Utilising a part of your property to conduct sustainable land management practices, or undertaking new activities in your business can diversify your income stream. Carbon abatement projects can also provide you with other benefits such as demonstrating your environmental credentials to customers and improving the efficiency and productivity of your operations.

Entering into a contract with the Commonwealth at the tenth auction can provide long term set-price funding for projects that meet our criteria.

Consultation on a new approach to contracting closing soon

A reminder that consultation on a new approach to contracting under the ERF—an option to deliver—closes at 5:00 PM (AEDT) 31 January 2020.

We are seeking views on a new contracting approach that would allow people to better manage their supply and price risks. Option to deliver contracts would give sellers the security of a contracted price for carbon credits in order to invest in a new carbon abatement project. The seller can then choose whether to deliver abatement to the Commonwealth at a contracted price, or sell some or all of their carbon credits elsewhere.
