The Renewable Energy Target 2014 Administrative Report covers the operations of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000 for the 2014 calendar year.

The report has been prepared in accordance with Section 105 of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000 and was tabled in Parliament on 11 May 2015.

The Renewable Energy Target 2014 Administrative Report provides information about the Clean Energy Regulator’s administration of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000 and how the Renewable Energy Target is performing against its legislated objectives, which are:

  • to encourage additional generation of electricity from renewable sources
  • to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases in the electricity sector
  • to ensure generation of electricity from ecologically sustainable renewable energy sources.

Liable entity certificate data

An appendum to the 2014 Administrative Report includes liable entities complete certificate activity data for the 2013 assessment year.

Renewable energy certificates can be created up to 12 months after small-scale systems are installed or by 31 December the year after electricity was generated by power stations.

Information on certificate activity (creation and surrenders) is available more frequently because of the Quarterly Carbon Market Report.
