The acceleration in renewables delivered in 2019
The Renewable Energy Target 2019 Administrative Report provides information about the Clean Energy Regulator's administration of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000 for the 2019 calendar year and how the scheme is performing against its legislated objectives, which are:
- to encourage additional generation of electricity from renewable sources
- to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases in the electricity sector
- to ensure generation of electricity from ecologically sustainable renewable energy sources.
The report has been prepared in accordance with Section 105 of the Act and was tabled out-of-session in the Australian Parliament on 17 September 2020.
It also includes the Renewable Energy Target 2019 Annual statement, which details progress towards the 2020 Large-scale Renewable Energy Target.
