The Clean Energy Regulator has published 2018
emissions-intensive trade-exposed (EITE) information.
A 100 per cent of electricity used for
EITE activities is exempt from Renewable Energy Target costs. Companies that conduct an EITE activity and complete the application process, if eligible, are issued an EITE exemption certificate by the Clean Energy Regulator. The exemption certificate can be traded with their electricity retailer (liable entity) to reduce the EITE entity's electricity costs for the year.
