The Clean Energy Regulator is encouraging emissions-intensive trade-exposed (EITE) companies operating large-scale commercial activities (e.g. manufacturing and processing) to understand:
Liable entities that supply electricity to EITE companies can use the exemption certificates issued to EITE companies to reduce their Renewable Energy Target liable electricity for the year.
To find out more about eligibility for exemption certificates – register to attend our upcoming webinar Am I eligible for exemption certificates at 2.00 pm AEDT on Friday, 14 December 2018.
Further information about eligibility and applying for exemption certificates is available on the industry assistance page on the Clean Energy Regulator website.
Companies that operate EITE activities and are deciding what method to use to apply for exemption certificates in 2019 should refer to the industry assistance page.
If you have specific questions on eligibility for exemption certificates or other matters please contact the RET Liability & EITEs section by emailing CER-IndustryAssistanceSchemes@cleanenergyregulator.gov.au or calling 1300 553 542.
