The Clean Energy Regulator has today launched SRES Smart – a new online tool for existing and prospective registered agents in the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme.

We strongly encourage existing agents a nd existing REC Registry account users with STC creation permissions to successfully complete SRES Smart within the next
SRES Smart usage is tracked and the data we collect will inform our audit and compliance activities. Existing registered agents a nd existing REC Registry account users with STC creation permissions who do not complete SRES Smart within the next six months will have their activities subjected to closer scrutiny under our compliance processes. Applications to create STCs may be subject to increased assessment checks which may extend processing times.
After completing SRES Smart for the first time, including the self-assessment tool, registered agents and their REC Registry account users with STC creation permissions will be encouraged to complete the self-assessment tool again on an annual basis to ensure that their knowledge of the scheme and their role within it remains up to date.
Further information is available on the
SRES Smart page on our website. Information on expected capabilities and standards of practice we consider essential to participate in the scheme is available on the
responsibilities, expected capabilities and standards of practice page.
If you are a registered agent, a prospective agent or would like to know more about SRES Smart, we encourage you to attend the
