Under the Renewable Energy Target, small-scale technology certificates for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems can be created over one or five years, or a single maximum deeming period.
The deeming period for solar PV systems decreases by one year, every year until 2030. This means that the current 14-year deeming period will reduce to 13 years in 2018. This change will reduce the number of certificates that can be created for an eligible system.
We have updated the
small generation unit STC calculator to reflect the upcoming decrease and help you calculate the number of certificates a system may be eligible for until 2030.

Deeming period decline page.
