27 July 2017

The June 2017 Large-scale Renewable Energy Target market data is now available.

This month’s big news is the accreditation of White Rock Wind Farm in the New England Tablelands region of NSW with a total capacity of 175 megawatts. This is enough to power 75 000 households per year, which is more than all the houses in the New England area!

The White Rock Wind Farm will comprise of 70 turbines, a substation and an eight kilometre transmission line.

Renewable investment has taken off in the New England Tablelands, with construction on schedule for first generation in August at the 20 megawatt White Rock Solar Farm near Glen Innes. The White Rock Solar Farm will be built adjacent to the White Rock Wind Farm, with the power stations forming a hybrid solar-wind facility.

Other highlights from this month’s data release include:

  • Salt Creek Wind Farm with a capacity of 54 megawatts, reached financial close.
  • Just over two-thirds of the new renewable energy projects required to meet the 2020 Large-scale Renewable Energy Target are now firmly announced.

Every month we publish an update of market data for the Large-scale Renewable Energy Target. We are committed to providing relevant and timely Renewable Energy Target information and data to increase transparency and provide the market with access to up-to-date information.
