New release of Large-scale Renewable Energy Target market data

Every month the Clean Energy Regulator publishes an update of market data for the Large-scale Renewable Energy Target. We are committed to providing relevant and timely Renewable Energy Target information and data to increase transparency and provide the market with access to up-to-date information.

Following the release of Tracking Towards 2020: Encouraging renewable energy in Australia, the latest data (for the period 1 January 2016 to 1 May 2017) shows that more than half the 6,000 MW required to meet the target has been firmly announced.

The market information and data available on our website includes:

Supply data

  • Large-scale Generation Certificates (LGCs) in all REC Registry accounts
  • Large-scale power station development pipeline including accredited, committed and probable projects

Demand data

  • Previous year’s legislated demand for LGCs
    • Total LGCs surrendered
    • REC Registry Account and LGCs surrendered
  • Total shortfall
    • REC Registry Account and LGC shortfall
    • Percentage of liability
  • Current legislated LGC demand and Renewable Power Percentage.
