The Emissions Reduction Fund has contracted its first project under the new plantations forestry method. The Evercreech Plantation Forestry, based in Tasmania – a state renowned for sustainable timber production - is expected to cover around 630 hectares located in the Tyne Valley region and set to deliver 68 959 tonnes of carbon abatement through carbon sequestration.
