The industrial equipment upgrades method recently came into effect. This method provides an alternative to the existing industrial electricity and fuel efficiency method, providing new opportunities for projects that upgrade existing industrial equipment including compressed air systems, boiler systems or pumps to improve the energy efficiency of the upgraded system.
To be eligible to participate under this method, projects must carry out upgrades that have been recommended by a qualified auditor in an energy audit or energy efficiency report.
Projects are required to measure electricity consumption pre and post upgrade, which must reflect business as usual activity. The proposed upgrades must be verified by a measurement and verification professional with a pre-upgrade and post-upgrade declaration confirming the upgrade meets method requirements.
