The Emissions Reduction Fund has now purchased 192 million tonnes of abatement through 429 contracts.
seventh Emissions Reduction Fund auction, held from 6–7 June has contributed 6.67 million tonnes of abatement to the overall total, with 32 carbon abatement contracts awarded for 32 projects.
The Clean Energy Regulator purchased carbon abatement at an average price of $13.52 per tonne, with a contracted value of $90 million.
A total of $2.3 billion has now been committed under the Emissions Reduction Fund, and almost $250 million remains available for future purchasing activities.
