The Emissions Reduction Fund has now secured over 191 million tonnes of abatement through 404 contracts.
The sixth Emissions Reduction Fund auction, held from 6–7 December, has contributed 7.95 million tonnes of abatement to the overall total, with 26 carbon abatement contracts awarded for 26 projects.
The Clean Energy Regulator purchased carbon abatement at an average price of $13.08 per tonne, with a contracted value of $104 million.
A total of $2.28 billion has now been committed under the Emissions Reduction Fund, with more than
$265 million available for future purchasing processes.
