The Clean Energy Regulator will hold a
sixth Emissions Reduction Fund auction on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 December 2017.
The sixth auction guidelines confirm the format remains unchanged on the previous auction with the Clean Energy Regulator retaining flexibility to choose the volume of abatement purchased—between 50 and 100 per cent on offer below the benchmark price. Performance of existing projects and contracts may now be taken into account when determining whether project owners will be qualified and registered to participate at auction.
Clean Energy Regulator Chair, David Parker, said "it is important to have regular purchasing events to allow the market continued access to the scheme, and to keep building the abatement portfolio."
This auction announcement comes after the release of the
plantation forestry method, providing opportunity for new sectoral engagement in the Emissions Reduction Fund. Those wanting to participate under the plantations method are urged to contact the Clean Energy Regulator as soon as possible to discuss the logistics and timing of registering their project.
For additional information on the timeframes for participation in auction six, see Planning for an auction.
