Emissions Reduction Fund project registration date fast approaching

03 March 2016

The Clean Energy Regulator is reminding anyone interested in participating in the upcoming third Emissions Reduction Fund auction that the cut off for project registration is midnight 9 March 2016 (AEDT).

The third auction will be held on 27 and 28 April 2016 and anyone hoping to bid in the auction will need to have their project registration form submitted to the Clean Energy Regulator by 9 March 2016 before proceeding to the auction qualification process.

There are plenty of opportunities to participate in the Emissions Reduction Fund with new methods coming online recently in facilities and waste and other methods in energy efficiency, mining, oil and gas, transport, and the land sector.

The Clean Energy Regulator encourages all interested parties to consider the business case for participating in the Emissions Reduction Fund.

Upon delivery of carbon abatement, the Clean Energy Regulator will issue Australian carbon credit units to the project participant, which can be sold back to the Government under a contract obtained through the auction process, or on the secondary market.

The timeframes for the third auction are below. Please read About the Emissions Reduction Fund for more information.
