The seventh Emissions Reduction Fund auction was held on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 June 2018.
At the seventh auction:
- the Clean Energy Regulator committed to purchase 6.67 million tonnes of abatement on behalf of the Commonwealth
- purchasing resulted in an average price per tonne of abatement of $13.52, which is the weighted average price for each Australian carbon credit unit purchased at this auction
- 32 contracts were awarded for 32 projects
- the value of all contracts awarded was $90 million, and
- the largest single contract was for 773,364 tonnes of abatement and the smallest for 51,959 tonnes of abatement.
