Eligibility to participate in the Emissions Reduction Fund

23 June 2017

For a project to be eligible for registration under the Emissions Reduction Fund (unless the method covering the project specifies otherwise), it must not:

  • have commenced before it has been registered with the Clean Energy Regulator (the newness requirement),
  • be required to be carried out by or under a Commonwealth, State or Territory law (the regulatory additionality requirement), and
  • likely to be carried out under another Commonwealth, state or territory government program in the absence of registration under the Emissions Reduction Fund (the government program requirement).

If you are unsure of your eligibility to participate in the Emissions Reduction Fund, the Interactive Emissions Reduction Fund Questionnaire below will help assess if your project meets the scheme’s requirements.

The questionnaire is a pilot tool for our clients and we value your feedback. The feedback we receive will inform ongoing improvements to the questionnaire and future updates. You will be presented with an option to complete a survey at the end of the questionnaire.

If you know someone who may benefit from using the questionnaire, you can also share it with them now on Twitter.
