Carbon pricing mechanism repeal
The Clean Energy Act 2011 has been repealed. This abolishes the carbon pricing mechanism from 1 July 2014. Liable entities must still meet their carbon price obligations for the 2013-14 financial year.

Interim Emissions Number and Opt-In Scheme workshop
The Clean Energy Regulator conducted a series of workshops during February and March 2013 to help liable entities prepare for the progressive surrender period (1 April to 15 June 2013) under the Australian Government’s carbon pricing mechanism.
The first workshop covered the systems and processes to assist liable entities prepare their interim emissions number.
The second workshop will provide an overview of the requirements for the carbon pricing mechanism including purchasing and surrendering of eligible emissions units.
The information materials listed below are those provided to participants of the workshops conducted to date. The presentations used in the second series of workshops will be available in late March 2013.
The presentations provide general information only. Each presentation was developed by the Clean Energy Regulator to help persons understand their responsibilities under the law. Persons should refer to the Clean Energy Act 2011 (Clean Energy Act), the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007 (NGER Act), and their supporting Regulations, in their current form at the time of reading. Changes to the legislation may affect the information in these presentations. Ultimately, liable entities are responsible for determining their liabilities and obligations under the law, and for applying the law to their individual circumstances.
