September Large-scale Renewable Energy Target data now available

03 November 2017

The Clean Energy Regulator has released September 2017 Large-Scale Renewable Energy Target data.

Highlights for September include:

  • Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) reached financial close on the 100 MW Lilyvale Solar Farm project. Construction is expected to begin soon – about 50 kilometres northeast of Emerald in the Central Highlands region, and should be complete before the end of 2018.
  • The trend of increasing commercial and industrial solar power stations continues with the accreditation of nine last month with a total capacity of 2.55 MW. A range of organisations including healthcare providers, councils and metal works now generate power from the sun.
  • In an Australian first, a 10 MW solar farm has been co-located with the existing 172 MW Gullen Range Wind farm. The solar farm is expected to produce 22 000 MW hours of renewable energy every year which is capable of powering 3100 New South Wales homes.

With the increased momentum in project announcements over the past year, the 2020 Renewable Energy Target remains on track.
