The Clean Energy Regulator has released information about the Renewable Energy Target liable entities who complied with their 2015 obligations.
The combined compliance rate for the Large-scale Renewable Energy Target and Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme for 2015 was 99.7 per cent. Liable entities have complied with their obligations in recent years and it is pleasing to see this continue.
Liable entities who fail to surrender sufficient renewable energy certificates incur a non-tax deductable renewable energy shortfall charge for each certificate not surrendered. Eight liable entities fall into this category for the 2015 assessment year and details about these entities are available on the 2015 shortfalls page.
For the Renewable Energy Target to operate effectively, and for the target to be reached, liable entities must take a forward view on how they will surrender sufficient certificates to comply with their obligations.
