The Clean Energy Regulator has been informed that the certification to AS/NZS 2712:2007 for 2 Ultra Green Sun Solar brand solar water heater products have been cancelled by the relevant accrediting body as of 29 January 2016.
Note: The reference above to Ultra Green Sun Solar is not a reference to Ultra Greensun Solar Southern Tasmania
Regulation 3A of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Regulations 2001 provides that a device that heats water using solar energy is a "solar water heater" only if, among other things, an accredited body has given the device component certification to AS/NZS 2712:2007. Due to the recent cancellation of Ultra Green Sun Solar brand products, the Clean Energy Regulator will apply an eligibility end date of 29 January 2016 to all affected Ultra Green Sun Solar on the Register of solar water heaters.
Any of the affected Ultra Green Sun Solar products installed on or after 29 January 2016 will not be eligible to create small-scale technology certificates (STCs). The full list of Ultra Green Sun Solar brand products affected by this change is available from the Register of solar water heaters.
