The Commercial and public lighting method is now available for use as part of the Emissions Reduction Fund.
The Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative—Commercial and Public Lighting) Methodology Determination 2015 (the method) provides forcrediting emissions reductions from projects that improve the energy performance of lighting systems in commercial and industrial buildings, as well as public areas, such as pedestrian, street and traffic lighting. By improving existing lighting systems less electricity is consumed and emissions associated with the generation of electricity are reduced.
Applications for projects using this method can now be made to the Clean Energy Regulator.
See Want to participate in the Emissions Reduction Fund for more information about how to apply.
