The Clean Energy Regulator has been informed that the certification to AS/NZS 2712:2007 for Westech Solar and Solimpeks brand solar water heater products has been cancelled by the relevant accrediting body as of 11 May 2015.
Regulation 3A of the
Renewable Energy (Electricity) Regulations 2001 provides that a device that heats water using solar energy is a "solar water heater" only if, among other things, an accredited body has given the device component certification to AS/NZS 2712:2007. Due to the recent cancellation of Westech Solar and Solimpeks brand products, the Clean Energy Regulator will apply an eligibility end date of 11 May 2015 to all Westech Solar and Solimpeks brand products on the
Register of solar water heaters.
Any Westech Solar and Solimpeks products installed on or after 11 May 2015 will not be eligible to create small-scale technology certificates (STCs). The full list of Westech Solar and Solimpeks brand products affected by this change is available from the
Register of solar water heaters. Alternatively, you can contact the Clean Energy Regulator on

If you have any enquiries regarding the accreditation status of Westech Solar and Solimpeks brand products please contact the manufacturer.
