The Clean Energy Regulator continued to manage the environmental impact of its operations through a shared services arrangement with the Department. Under this arrangement, the Department provided facilities management services for the Clean Energy Regulator.
The Department’s environmental management approach was based on the principles of ecologically sustainable development and underpinned by an environmental management system certified under the global standard for managing environmental impacts and risks, ISO 14001:2004.
The Clean Energy Regulator building at 5 Farrell Place, Canberra, has an energy rating of 4.5 stars under the National Australian Built Environment Rating System. This rating is valid until April 2014.
